From two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage comes this delicious new ‘dramedy’ that has it all - wit, heart, snappy dialogue, and big surprises. Creating the perfect sandwich is the quest of the formerly incarcerated staff at Clyde’s truck stop. Deeply felt, quirky, and urgent, "Clyde’s" serves up a masterful play. I was supposed to do this at Pistarckle Theater in St. Thomas USVI. We went through complete rehearsals and then, COVID … There is a lot of rough handling in the show. It became spookier and scarier … we so wanted to do it.. I was the old guy. Ryan Ferment my opposite. As we would unthinkingly do, a gifted African Caribbean actress, Christina Harper was my wife. // Love how these actors played this. I would definitely be influenced by seeing this actor’sstrength and commitment to the wonderfully written show. I was playing him slower and more calculated. A missed opportunity and now I have aged out from anything as challenging as this role. Full pages of unsupported dialog setting up the double twisted ending, as the audience watches.. // I have a fake suede jacket like his that I bought in Spain. Same color . And my body characteristics are similar … The memory is always better than the reality.😌
We are going tomorrow and are very excited!
it's super interesting to hear this and hear the changes that were made when it went to Broadway! I love the lyrics in both versions!
Thank you! Question: I could see in the script when you were announcing the cues, but I couldn't see anything marked that determined when you wanted the cue to actually happen ("go"). Do you normally not mark those spots?
When I played Garry, I never practiced my fall. I thought that if I practiced, it would look unnatural, so every night of tech week and of the performance I just actually fell down the stairs. I chipped my shin one night and can still move around the chipped piece of bone! Super fun though, no regrets. love this show
"promo sm" 😪

There's a more sinister side to that story if one cares to look.
I wish I could've seen this version. It looks so amazing

Haha she’s already played Ariel at another theatre great to see she has much love for her character 🥰
And the Tony Award goes to King T Chaka for a Broadway play
As an autistic person who tried to navigate the world for 31 years without knowing I was autistic (and therefore struggling every minute of my 31 years of life), I am so excited to usher for this!
Have we met yet?? Please introduce yourself tomorrow if we haven't--and if we have, I'm sorry, I'm horribly face-blind and terrible with names, but as a fellow late-dx'd this is so great to hear <3
@@AshleyWool I made a comment on your Facebook page about the show!
I just love this show
Incredible Broadway worthy show!!
I love us.
Anything with Gloria Benavides in it is terrible. She was a horrible teacher and she's a horrible person.
001
This play did not, in my opinion measure up to the standards I have come to expect from Syracuse Stage. While I am not alone in this assessment, I understand that most of those I have heard share my opinion are unlikely to say anything at all for fear of being branded a racist. I don't care if you brand me a racist. I found no redeeming quality in "Salt City Blues."
Buying a ticket just for John Malkovich!
Donna Drake is a true “dear heart”. ❤️❤️❤️ this amazing lady.
I saw the show last week and loved it! Is there anywhere where we can listen to the music?
This is one of the most stunning performances of this song I have ever seen . I just kept whispering “wow wow wow”
There is a huge chance that I will see this version of my fave musical ever! Well done working on that! I'm impressed!
Fantastic 🥰🎨
The set is stunning.
the stage design oh my lord
best non-broadway production I’ve seen so far and that’s a really high standard! amazing cast and production design
Outstanding performance.
This is excellent! The best Cold Read yet!
